Windows8 Advanced options (including safe mode) Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your PC in a limited state. This means that only the basic files, settings and drivers needed to run Windows are loaded, and the words Safe Mode appear in the corners of your screen. If you've been having a problem with your PC, you can start it in safe mode to try to find a solution. Do one of the following: A. If your computer has a single operating system installed : press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. You need to press F8 before the Windows logo appears. If the Windows logo appears, you'll need to try again by waiting until the Windows logon prompt appears, and then shutting down and restarting your computer. B. If your computer has Multi OS installed(Windows 8 Boot Loarder) Pic 1. 1. Restart Windows >On Choose an operating system Screen > Select operating system(For My Example is Win8)click Change default or Choose other options > 2. On Option screen, click Choose other options > 3. On Choose an option screen, click >Troubleshoot > 4. On Troubleshoot screen, click > Advanced options > 5. On Advanced options screen, click > Start-up Settings > 6. On the Start-up Settings screen, click > Restar> 7. Your computer is Restart & boot to Startup Settings Screen > in this screen, choose the safe mode option you want.(Use number keys or Press Functions keys F1- F9.) * Sign in to your PC with a user account that has administrator rights.   C. Option in Startup Settings Screen 1. Enable debugging : This mode is valid only for Windows-based domain controllers. This mode performs a directory service repair. 2. Enable Boot Logging : Creates a file, ntbtlog.txt, that lists all the drivers that are installed during startup and that might be useful for advanced troubleshooting. 3. Enable low-resolution video : Starts Windows using your current video driver and using low resolution and refresh rate settings. You can use this mode to reset your display settings. 4. Enable Safe Mode : Safe mode is a troubleshooting option for Windows that starts your computer in a limited state. Only the basic files and drivers necessary to run Windows are started. The words Safe Mode appear in the corners of your monitor to identify which Windows mode you're using. 5. Enable Safe Mode with Networking : Starts Windows in safe mode and includes the network drivers and services needed to access the Internet or other computers on your network. 6. Enable Safe Mode with Command Prompt : Starts Windows in safe mode with a command prompt window instead of the usual Windows interface. This option is intended for IT professionals and administrators. 7. Disable Driver Signature Enforcement : Allows drivers containing improper signatures to be installed. 8. Disable early launch anti-malware protection : If a driver is classified as malware by Early Launch Anti-Malware Protection because it is malicious or because of a false positive, the driver may not be allowed to load. If this is a necessary driver for Windows to start properly, then we could have a problem where Windows is unable to boot up properly. To protect Windows from a situation like this, Microsoft added a method for you to disable Early Launch Anti-Malware Protection during a boot so that you canresolve your issues by either updating your virus detections or removing the problematic malware driver. Then the next time you reboot your computer, Early Launch Anti-Malware Protection will automatically start again and continueprotecting your computer. 9. Disable automatic restart after failure : Prevents Windows from automatically restarting if an error causes Windows to fail. Choose this option only if Windows is stuck in a loop where Windows fails, attempts to restart, and fails again repeatedly.
